You are 100% correct. Strictly speaking, Premchai and ITD are two legally separate entities.

If ITD stock takes a plunge based on its CEO's actions, so be it. The market will make its voice heard.

However, to put a ban on bids for a publicly traded company with thousands of shareholders because of the alleged deplorable actions of one man (not yet convicted) I believe is not legal (regardless of how much people want this guy to get justice).

It may even be against int'l law: collective punishment.

In any case, this is not a defence of Premchai just laying out the legalities.

Hope he does real time.

"However, to put a ban on bids..."

No ban has been made!"

"In any case, this is not a defence of Premchai just laying out the legalities".

You're a corporate lawyer?

With great power comes great responsibility. Premchai is viewed by many as failing to exercise such responsibility and one has to assume his underlings will be of similar mindset. Clearly fr

Why?   No doubt Premchai has done wrong, but to stop the company bidding for projects because of it?   With that sort of logic, that should have taken America off the map after the

  • Totally agree, why should ordinary share holders suffer for a CEO's illegal pastimes.  Either the uni rector is very narrow minded or is attention seeking. Either way it reflects poorly.

Which shareholders?  Where has that been reported?

You're right, it has had a massive impact!  1.2% drop, devastating!  And analysts have said that the huge drop is due to what?

My maths are a bit rusty but maybe an 84 satung drop since February is 21.5%.  the 1.29% would be the drop on that day.

No mention whatsoever in that link about "shareholders growing more concerned', quite the opposite, in fact, as this quote from your link shows!...

"He said bidding for business contracts continued without any disruption and shareholders’ benefits were well taken care of. The atmosphere at the meeting was peaceful and no one expressed objections or asked about issues beyond the agenda".

When a Thai Investors Association representative asked about the impact from the tycoon’s arrest along with three companions in the Thung Yai Naresuan wildlife sanctuary in Kanchanaburi, Premchai said the matter would not affect the firm’s business in Thailand or any other country

I guess that question was just to make small talk then.

What the president says and the mood of his audience doesn't represent how the shareholders actually feel.

Sometimes you just have to look at the bigger picture.

How many Thai's does this company employ on average and how many would lose their jobs if this company was no longer allowed to bid on contracts?

You are maybe missing the "bigger picture" if you think that if  ITD miss out on work in the form of big new contracts that there will be thousands without work.

The big  projects will still need doing , and anyone experienced in that kind of work have the opportunity to  simply sign up with the new  contract winner.

Premchai will never admit his guilt - and as long as he denies , he will never be 'proven guilty' as so many on here seem to require. What good is it to be a multimillionaire in Thailand  with the power to be able to make  evidence disappear and delay and delay court proceedings only to go out and short circuit it all by admitting guilt ??

Sorry but I don't agree. This poacher is one of the companies "elites". Either he comes clean and goes to jail for his crime or the company can keep on vouching for him and lose money or him.

Quite right. And, the fastest way to get him kicked out is to take away   money from the shareholders. Unless he's the majority shareholder which I doubt, but if he were and he has any sense (debatable for a Thai), he'd jump anyway not wait to be kicked.

Thailand has no need for role models like this joker, got wat too many already.
