BANGKOK, 30 April 2018 (NNT) – The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has started its annual seasonal closure of several attractions in 66 of 147 national parks nationwide.

According to the department, this is normal practice, as it closes several attractions every year for a certain period, depending on weather and park conditions.

Dates are varied, and the closure is often due to extreme weather, especially during the rainy months that may create unsafe conditions, and allows for some ecological recovery time.

This year, the department is closing attractions in 66 national parks nationwide, including 24 national parks in the North, 28 in the South, nine in the Northeast, and five in the Central, Western and Eastern Regions.

LOL, more likely, closure is due to seasonal lack of customers hence lack of open wallets.  I'm sure "ecological recovery time" never ever occurred to the Department... caretakers managers.  T.I.T. after all. :saai:

Who cares.

Stopped going,  after the 400 baht price tags on Falangs who contribute

millions of new baht to the Thai economy every year.

Much more satisfying to watch National geographic on the Tv with a few beers,  if i need that sort of

thing.

Cheers Thailand. :jap:

This may be the right time for a private black panther hunting safari.

It is rather more for security reasons! Muddy paths, slippery rocks specially flash floods! It happens nearly every year that people drown in a flash flood, specially while bathing or close to waterfalls. Don't forget the power of the Monsoon!

What do the park employee's do when these parks are closed.  These always look like cush jobs. Is there a government pension for these people who sit in guard both it direct traffic or stand around talking to each other during open times.
