Rumour Day Today

Featured Replies

again this maybe total <deleted> as i can not remember reading anything about it here on in the bangkok post but i've just been told that from 1 February there will be no departure tax at the airport, the tax will now be included in the ticket price. Anyone know?

Mods if this is <deleted> feel free to delete the post.

It's not bolleaux, the airport tax will be incorporated in the ticket prices sometime in February. I can't remember the date but it is going to happen. Thailand takes another tentative step towards the 20th century.

Absolutely correct and all airlines are advising same that new tickets purchased for departure after 1st Feb will have included taxes of which 700 Baht is departure tax ( yes it increases from 500 to 700 maybe to fill the cracks up with the excess )

I understand that to be correct, except for tickets that were issued prior to the change. The departure tax will increase on the same date to B700 (international)

thank you for that, seeing as the same bloke who told me about this was the same person who told me about the alleged bomb on Walking street on Friday night, it gives that story a bit more credibility too. Obviously the 2 are totally unrelated though.
