Passport check

Recommended Posts

Arrived at Swampy yesterday time 3.30pm. The peeps waiting for passport check (Mostly Chinese) were in their thousands. Estimate time to get through would have been well over 2 hours. Have never seen it like that before.

As luck would have it I had fast track that took less than 2 minutes. Just a heads up.

Arrived Swampy this morning at 10:30, redirected to East Immigration Hall - West Immigration Hall was 'Full',  though looking up the ramp it wasn't really. Eastern hall was empty, through immigration in less than 5 minutes.

A friend arrives next month.

I already warned him/made aware.

Interesting to read that still the unknowing will not look for the other hall.

Similar to departure where the hall in the back is often less crowded.

From the bottom of the ramp yesterday they were lining up in double figures, that was just to get to the start of the queue. Horrendous wasn't the word.

Don't know if you can buy a fast track card but if you can well worth it.

Yes it's not far to walk to check out the other immigration hall, but recently the airport has become much better at trying to balance the flow of passengers. They had roped off the western hall and had staff redirecting us to the eastern hall which was empty.

Though it might be easier if they didn't overload arrival concourses E, F & G and pushed more air traffic toward C & D; but I guess they are 'reserved' primarily for the use of Thai Airways.

Do you recommend any of these "VIP" type services ?

I'm seriously thinking of this  on my return.

I mean what if your travelling alone and you need the toilet?

Lose your place in some monster queue?

Whenever family or friends come to visit I treat them to the Arrivals Service with BFS.  Highly recommended.

Have never used them as I travel Business class, so get the fast track as part of the deal. But they do seem better than having to line up for a few hours.

If you do book it the airport will be empty when you arrive, if you don't book, it will be full to the rafters!

I use BFS every time i depart and arrive, it's 950 baht.

They're very good, meet you off the plane on arrival and meet you at check in counter on departure.

I never take the risk of queing at immigration, for the sake of 950baht it's not worth the hassle.
