BANGKOK, 21 May 2018 (NNT) – The Election Commission (EC) will be opening for election inspector applications from June 13th to 22th, 2018.

According to the EC, interested persons can submit their applications for the post of election inspector during the stated period at any provincial EC offices nationwide.

Persons selected as provincial election inspectors will receive a monthly remuneration of 50,000 for the months they work, plus 400 baht daily allowances, 1,500 baht daily accommodation cost, and 1,000 baht daily transportation cost. Inspectors working in Songkhla, Pattani, and Narathiwat will receive the additional 3,750-5,000 baht per month.

Persons who wish to apply for this position must be a Thai citizen by birth, aged between 45-70 years, being a resident in the province they apply in for no less than 90 days, have a least bachelor's degree, being politically unbiased, being honest and loyal, having no damaged reputation, and being healthy to perform the job.

As there more than likely be no elections for some time, successful applicants will automatically be fast-tracked to an inactive post - an ever-increasing group.

This could well be a 'coup' for the junta: Being transferred without doing a day's work or before causing a 'financial misunderstanding'.

I somehow suspect they will not be snowed under with eligible applicants.

Good job!

No work, much money!

??

Any suitably qualified Thai can apply for this - but only the 'good people' will be selected. And we all know who they are!

Yes. Personalised invitations to family and friends of high ranking junta officials and civil servants are already in the mail.

So military need only apply?

We prefer Thai applicants with a doctorate who already have experience inspecting a parallel universe.
