Aforek
Hello, I have a Yamaha Nmax 155 , very satisfied of it, 3500 kms so far my question is about changing engine oil : first time, 1000 kms to the Yamaha shop ( done already ) , second time normally at 4000 kms ; and after ? Every how many kms ? 3000 ? because I hear different things from different people ? for the rest, I have read the manual, but if from your experience you have some advices to tell , don't hesitate ; I want that my scooter lasts a long time I know a local guy who works well ( not a Yamaha specialist , more Honda ) who says every 1000 kms and he showed me an oil 400 bahts ; it seems to me expensive and every 1000 kms too often thank you
cornishcarlos
I think it should give you oil change intervals in the manual.. I would follow that !! But as a base line, depending on oil type, 3000-5000km and you won't be doing anything wrong. I change mine every year or 5000km, not doing 5000km these days so just gets an annual service. As for the oil, 400 baht for a litre of scooter lube seems quite expensive. I pay 120 baht which includes labour ?
johng
400 baht for a liter of oil is expensive except if it's a fully synthetic oil which should last a lot longer than "normal" oil. However "normal" oil is cheap so if you want to keep the engine running well then increase the oil change frequency a bit and just use "normal" oil...and remember to regularity check the oil level with the dipstick because on those auto scooters with all the plastics surrounding the engine its not easy to spot a leak.
