Featured Replies

Hi, I have heard that you need to get a criminal record check for a work permit and teacher's license, does anyone know how to do this?

Hi Lee,

Very simple for you.

https://www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record

There is a tool there that can help you decide what you actually need. If working with children you need enhanced checks.

My wife just did hers. But as we are overseas, we also got it notorised, authenticated and legalised by by the Thai Embassy using CDN.

We also have one for the country that we currently live in.

Good luck

The criminal record check is only needed to apply for a non-b visa at a embassy or consulate.

But a school may require one before they employ you.

Some nearby location only require a Thai police clearance certificate.

For the UK you can apply for it online here: https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx

Ubon Joe, is the Thai police clearance certificate enough for the non-b visa at the local immigration office?

A police clearance is not required to apply for a visa at immigration.

There are a few that can do them. The only way to know is to contact them or check their website.
