The local mayor has blamed big boats at anchor dumping trash into the sea off Koh Si Chang.

Damrong Phetra said there were no local people throwing trash on Ngu Beach - his team were constantly having to clear up the rubbish and it came from boats.

Daily News found the lovely beach ruined along its entire 100 meter stretch with plastic bottle, bags and other refuse.

Pictures showed the filthy state of the beach as calls for decisive action against boats dumping trash were made.

Welcome to trashy Thailand is the new slogan from TAT.

Could be advertised as a thrilling adventure.  Try to find the gold in a pile of trash .

This time they are correct. There is no possibly way that Thais are dumping directly on to this beach. Those <deleted> on the boats have been littering Bang Saen beach forever. The coast guard needs to have them park over near Laem Cha Bang. All their disgusting filth messes the beaches from Chonburi all the way down to Rayong. Heavy heavy fines and even jail time should be imposed if they find out who does this.

They have a story and someone or something to blame for everything. The fact is all the City Halls maybe inept.

We would need a vote of course lol.

They cannot say who and there is no enforcement to speak of unless they are turning away refugees.   People serving prison sentences cannot be used to clean up beaches, as that would be just wrong.  Big on problems and small on solutions.  The constant embrace of incompetence.

WHY cant they be used ??

It would be useful if they were used

It would be a reasonable solution and highly useful.  Start thinking backwards or counter intuitively.   From there, it will make sense.  The police do not really police and the government does not really govern.

Sure it does. But most of the trash from the locals is actually biodegradable. The seamen throw styrofoam containers and plastic everywhere. It’s boat waste. Most of it. It’s been getting slightly better the last couple years.

Plastic and bottles aren`t much biodegredable.

Most Thais don't care and many don't feel  love towards a city they moved at a later part of their lives only to make money. Pattaya is not associated with their place by birth.

Many tourists  don't care either as they are there temporarily.

The more crowded and dense the cities get, the level of unhappiness goes through the roof.

This reflects on their behaviors such as throwing trash everywhere, being unfriendly, lack of smiles(far from land of smiles) etc.

Pair this with sense of disconnect  I mentioned above and arrival of mostly less educated Thai people for job opportunities( educated Thais obviously won't be too crazy to work or live in a sin city), that's what you get!..

piles of trash everywhere!
