June 1, 20188 yr Neighbor just saw an approx 2 meter very black snake exit one jungley area of our moo baan and cross a road to a jungley area where our kids often have to retrieve errant basketballs. Very long thinning tail. Have tried to look up black snakes in Thailand but do not get any easy way to ident. Birds were attacking the snake as it traversed the roadway. Sorry to not have a pic but any likely candidates would be appreciated. Thanks is advance!
June 1, 20188 yr Best guess....a red tailed pipe snake, not venomous.https://www.google.co.th/search?q=black+snake+picture+thailand&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjH2-nQgLLbAhXbXCsKHR7GAyYQsAQIMw&biw=1600&bih=769#imgrc=M6BldHiQnqax4M:
June 1, 20188 yr Most snakes are harmless in Thailand, so as long as your kids don't purposely attack it, it will leave you alone. Here is a list of snakes in Thailand. https://bangkokherps.wordpress.com/snakes/

September 4, 20187 yr Long dark snake of that length is almost always going to be a rat snake. The "long thin tail" makes it close to certain as neither pythons nor cobras (the other two fairly large snakes) have long skinny tails.
