BANGKOK, 5th June 2018 (NNT) – A committee is being setup by the Royal Thai Army to look into the suspected involvement of a lieutenant in the temple fund corruption case, despite police having yet to file charges.

Chief of the Defense Forces Gen Tarnchaiyan Srisuwan said today a body is being put together to investigate Lt. Tithitas Niponpittaya, who has been named among suspects tied to the temple fund corruption case currently impacting the National Office of Buddhism.

Noting that there is no clarity on the matter as yet, Gen Tarnchaiyan assured the public action would be taken if any fault is found against Lt. Tithitas. He has been suspended for the time being.

Lt. Tithitas was named among those suspected of engaging in graft at Wat Sa Ket and also appears to be the owner of Dee Dee Taweekoon Co Ltd, which has produced media for the military and the temple.

A probe of his assets found he transferred ownership of the company to Nuchara Sittinok, who would later receive 25 million baht from the temple’s high ranking monks. A person close to Lt. Tithitas has already argued that the payment was for the production of media for Wat Sa Ket.

So police Lt. Tithitas's real day job is being the owner and operator of the said media company but he moonlights for the RTP when time is available.

Army forming committee

Will there be a tender exercise for accommodation and catering? Just ask because I'm behind with the rent...

One of the focuses of the probe will be to determine why this was delegated to a lieutenant.

1. Make decision (not guilty).

2. Call all the "boys" see if they are free.

3. Book lunch(es).

4. Repeat.

5. Wait 6/7 months, announce decision.

Rinse and Repeat.
