Video: Motorists get a fountain show on the motorway

Dash cam footage from Chacherngsao showed a ten meter high fountain caused by a broken pipe next to Route 7 outbound.

The spectacle was at kilometer marker 50/800 near the Bang Pakong rest area.

INN reported that the water authorities have now turned off the valve and an investigation is underway.

Not yet surely - have they formed a ten-man committee that fast? Oh, perhaps they might have I suppose - they were under a lot of pressure.

How do you "turn off" a valve?

Ah, semantics. Close the valve.

I don't imagine journalists globally would be aware of the difference - unless they worked for a technical journal.

Perhaps it was electrically operated, then you could turn of the switch, thereby closing the valve - ha ha!

The water authorities will get round to fixing it before the end of the year.

depends on  the valve  either clock wise or if a gate valve  opposite to on?

All gate valves and globe valves open counter clock wise and close clock wise. A butterfly valve is only a quarter turn to open and a quarter turn to close

This has the potential to become a major tourist attraction. Don't fix it, just add a floating market and a ticket booth.

Farang 200 baht, Nationals 0 baht?

And why has no one ever shut it off ?
Because they don't know where the shut off valve is [emoji1]

Turn off / close / shut /  isolate , interchangeable and understood by anyone with anything to do with valves.
