Another dolphin washes up on Chon Buri beach

By The Nation

The decomposed carcass of a finless porpoise washed ashore on Laem Taen Beach in Chon Buri on Monday morning.

The site is next to the more popular Bang Saen Beach.

The 1.45-metre-long carcass had become stuck at Royal Navy Bridge Laem Taen. Officials estimated it had been dead for about three days.

There were no wounds visible, but Rawi Sawang-arom, who works for a local foundation, said the carcass would be given a post-mortem at the marine resources research and development office.

Another finless porpoise, about a metre long, was found dead on nearby Sam Mook Beach on May 23.

Given that all of the dead sea creatures found of late are full of plastic, this is likely to become a very regular occurrence.

This Wiki entry might help -

The Indo-Pacific finless porpoise (Neophocaena phocaenoides), or finless porpoise, is one of seven porpoise species. Most of the population has been found around the Korean peninsula in the Yellow and East China Seas, although a freshwater population is found around Jiuduansha near Shanghai at the mouth of China's Yangtze River. Genetic studies indicate that the finless porpoise is the most basal living member of the porpoise family.[2]

How could anything survive in the toilet bowl around Chonburi. Just dumping raw sewage from those huge pipes along Pattaya Beach.

Finally all the dolphin statues in Pattaya make some sense.

Not for long. The sea will be dead in no time.

Just sad, how the environment gets destroyed. Not only in TH. But so many ignorant and chaotic places. Isn't all that affecting quality tourism? MS>
