nong38
I am expecting to get a divorce with my UK spouse by Spring of 2018, when this has gone through I would like to marry, legally, my Thai partner but what is the procedure for doing this? I assume I will have to get a paper from the Embassy in Bangkok to confirm divorce in the UK and if this is correct where do we go to arrange and complete legal ceremony? I assume there is no need for the bus load of Monks or the traditional free party as per the "village wedding" . Thanks for any help with the running order and "road map" Edited June 21, 2018 by nong38 spelling
ubonjoe
You have to do a affirmation of permit to marry at the UK embassy. Info on doing it and other info is here. https://www.gov.uk/marriage-abroad/y/thailand/opposite_sex After getting the affirmation and having it translated you can go to any Amphoe to register your marriage. Some Amphoes will want a certification of your passport photo page. No need for a formal marriage ceremony.
