New passport, Visa transfer

Just got a new passport. Do I just take the old passport, which contains a valid visa, to Suvarnabhumi, and they will transfer it to the new passport there?

Anything else I should be aware of?

What type of entry do you have now?

If you only have a visa entry you can do it at an airport on departure from the country.

If on an a long term extension of stay it has to be done at immigration before leaving the country.

Just got a multiple entry business visa in Penang. 

The new passport didn't arrive in time.

 

edit. I try to avoid immigration at CW.

You can do the stamp transfer at the airport. 

If your multiple entry non-b visa is in your old passport you will have to use both passports on entry to the country to use it until it expires.
