Featured Replies

A 34-year-old farmer and alleged sorcerer was shot and seriously injured on Tuesday as he sat in front of his house in Preah Vihear province on the Cambodian-Thai border. Se Savuth, who has a wife and two children, was shot five times in Yeang commune’s Choam Sre village.

Veng Sakhon, deputy chief of Yeang commune police, said that according to the victim and a police investigation, on the night of the attempted murder Mr Savuth was sitting alone smoking a cigarette in front of his house while his wife and children were watching TV inside. An identified man with a homemade gun then walked toward him.

“The suspect took the gun and fired five bullets at him, seriously wounding him on the hands, neck and the left of his jaw, ” Mr Sakhon said. “After shooting the victim, the man fled with the gun into the jungle.” After hearing the shooting, the victim’s wife came out of the house and saw the victim. She shouted loudly for help.
