Bird Cage Wire

Featured Replies

I have been searching for 1/2" x 1 or 2" wire to build a bird cage but cannot find any of reasonable strength.  Home pro only carries the thin weak wire that cannot keep a parrot from biting through it.  Thanks for any help in telling me where this is available in or near Bangkok.

How about Thaiwatsadu out near Mega Bangna ? I am not familiar with parrots but they had a selection of sizes and thickness of mesh last time I wandered around the store. I see they have some on special at the moment. The Thaiwatsadu website is not much good, but if you go to it, then promotions (in Thai along the top) and then brochure 2, the wire sizes might make sense to you.

What is it about farangs and, Home Pro, Watsadu, or whatever it is.

I live in rural area, and just 4 km from me is a shop, they had what you are looking for they had the thin wire you found in Home Pro, plus this thicker wire, that will do the job, my Auntie has reared Parrots for years, so I know what you mean.

So, find your local Ran- Gan - Gaset, ร้านการเษตร, in Thai, you should have one near you in Bangkok or try your local Thai builder's merchant. and ask for ตะแกลงลวด square mesh wire, I think.

i recently had an aviary built using the wire mesh you are looking for.....i could not find it in chiang mai..  i ordered it from Mr. Natttawat....phone numbers are 028745211 and 0878358118....it was 3 ft high and 100 ft long.....it is the heavy guage wire not the flimsly wire mesh that you find locally.....he shipped it to me from bangkok....good luck....
