Big hole opens up in Rama III road

Bangkok’s Rama III road partially subsided to create a large hole on Wednesday morning amid heavy morning traffic.

Motorists reported seeing the hole at 7.30am on the Klon Toey-bound side of the road.

After being alerted of the hole, traffic police from the Bang Phong Phang police station rushed to the scene and use traffic cones to mark it.

Police then alerted the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, requesting that they fix it urgently.

Police are looking into it?

Needless to say that it caused a backlog of cars all the way up Bhumibol bridge (Industrial Ring Road) reaching Kachanapisek (Outer ring road), about 7 Km.

So those witches hats will be there for the next year or two?

There should be enough plastic waste in the hood to fill it up.

Surely must be the tricks of some awful farang engineer, with no work permit of course and probably on overstay,  who badly designed the road !!

A committee is being set up to investigate how much non-recyclable waste can be dumped into the hole....containers ready and waiting at Bangkok docks as we speak.....:whistling:

Of course, farangs are the only bad peoples in Thailand and they are responsible for all the bad things. I have been waiting for when they will introduce the capital penalty for overstay. ?

I just love you optimists

Perhaps they  could give some urgency to fixing all the rest of Bangkok's potholes, both in the road and on the pavement.

Looks like that section has recently had black top done.

Maybe a previous hole filled with sand/whatever and new surface added.
