BANGKOK — Police on Monday said they arrested 6,500 people – including 250 bookmakers – on gambling-related charges since the beginning of the World Cup, confiscating 28 million baht. Gen. Chalermkiat Sriworakarn said police is considering whether to turn a temporary center to crackdown on football-related gambling into a permanent one. The center was set up in May. Where are they going to put 6,500 arrestees - ironically a football stadium might well be the ideal location.
