HM the King asks government to treat foreign rescuers as his personal guests

 

His Majesty the King has advised rescuers that their plan to extract the 13 survivors form the flooded cave must be carefully thought out with their health and mental conditions taken into consideration and to make sure that both the rescuers and the survivors are safe.

 

Government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said Tuesday night that HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn offered his moral support to all who have been involved in assisting the 12 boys and their coach and advised them to maintain their consciousness, wisdom and determination in doing their jobs in the rescue operations.

 

The King said that the mission would be accomplished only when the survivors are safely returned to their families and this can only be succeeded with systematic planning and unity of all involved in the operations, both Thais and foreigners.

His Majesty sends morale-boosting message to rescuers seeking to evacuate footballers

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn on Tuesday sent his moral support to those working to extract footballers found alive but weak on Monday night deep in the Tham Luang cave.

 

His Majesty sent his message through Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

 

“Initial praises are good, but please remain focused on the operation, which will be deemed successful once everyone is brought out to their families safely,” said General Prayut in conveying the message from the King.

 

“The success is yielded from a systematic operation plan and the unity of both Thais and foreigners who join in the operation or to provide moral support,” Prayut quoted the King as saying.

 

“The plan to bring the team out of the cave has to be well-thought-out and reflect [the survivors’] physical and mental health. The plan has to be safe and not reckless. No harm or loss must be caused to either [the survivors] or the rescuers,

 

“Then, [the survivors] should have their health checked at hospitals before returning to their families. Tham Luang cave should then be restored and have its safety measures levelled up,” the King reportedly said.

 

“Lesson must be learnt from experiences. This lesson can be used to prepare disaster alarm system and modern alarm and rescue equipment. Irrigation departments should also make evaluations and plans in case of disasters.

 

“Foreigners who join this operation should be treated well. When the mission is over, they should receive good hospitality as the Royal guests until they depart [from Thailand].”

 

The 12 young members of the Mu Pa Academy football team and their assistant coach were discovered on a mud shelf by two experienced UK cave divers on Monday evening some 400 metres beyond the so-called the “Pattaya Beach” location that they were expected to be found.

King wants “Tham Luang 13” to be brought out as soon as possible: Prawit

His Majesty the King wants the 12 young footballers and their coach, stranded in Tham Luang cave since June 23, to be brought out as soon possible, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon said today.

 

The 13 have been found safe in the cave but it remains challenging how to bring them out. They are currently being accompanied at a spot in the cave about 400 metres from the so-called Pattaya Beach by Navy Seal members and a medical team.

 

Gen Prawit said the 13 cannot yet be moved out of the cave because of the strong currents in the  narrow passages, adding that evacuating them will require a large number of people and equipment.
