Will Smith has recalled a phone call he received from Jay-Z back in 2012 where the rapper congratulated him for slapping a prank reporter on a red carpet.

 

Smith encountered the Ukrainian prankster Vitalii Sediuk during the Russian premiere of Men In Black 3, with Sediuk kissing Smith twice on both cheeks. Provoked, Smith pushed Sediuk away and slapped him on the side of his face as he said: “Hold on man, what the hell is your problem, buddy?”

 

As he was ushered away from the altercation, Smith was heard saying: “Hey, I’m sorry. He tried to kiss me on my mouth. That joker, he’s lucky I ain’t sucker punch him. Oh sorry, I said that on camera.” Watch a clip of the incident below.
