Non ED extension after ED Visa expires?

Featured Replies

My son has a one year ED Visa which expires this week.

He would like to stay in Thailand for a few weeks more.

Can he go to CW and obtain some form of non ED Visa / extension or a Visa Waiver, for 30 days? If so, what Visa would he apply for?

Many thanks

What does he actually have?

A multiple entry non-ed visa issued by a embassy or consulate? If he has one he could do a border hop for a new 90 day entry on or before the date the visa expires.

Or a one year extension of stay based upon attending school issued by immigration.? With documents from the school he could apply for another extension of stay at immigration. If he has no supporting documents his only choice is to leave the country and re-enter to get a 30 day visa exempt entry if he qualifies for one (nationality ?).

What is your status here? If you are on a extension of stay he might be able apply for being a member of your family based upon your extension if he is 20 years old or younger.
