Women know they are crazy, and they support a fellow crazy woman. Perfectly normal. It's funny how normal rules of criminal law don't apply. She sent her husband away to get food, so she would have time to kill the three children. She know exactly what she was doing. She knew right from wrong. But "post-partum" depression so she can claim she was insane. Like Andrea Yates in 2002. She killed her 5 children. Then got off, again on "post-partum" depression. Andrea Yates, after her divorce, discovered she was a lesbian and married a woman. One requirement was the provocation had to be immediate, the response had to be close in time, for the provocation to be usable as a legal defense. Not for women though. They found a way to absolve a woman who planned to burn her husband alive, namely "battered woman syndrome". If you are a woman you can use that defence, kill your husband after years, after months of planning, and still use provocation as defence. Differently rules apply for women.
