Fastest 30 day visa on arrival visa run from chiang mai?

Hello, I am trying to find out what is the fastest options i have to take a plane from Chiang Mai to get a 30 day visa on arrival to come back into thailand? 

To Myamar? A flight to udon thani and then go to the vientiane border or? I would prefer to leave and come back on the same day if possible thanks.

The only visa run I've done was from Chiang Mai  to KL, but even then I had an overnight stop.

Not sure how returning on the same day would look to Immigration, or if it makes no difference.

There is no 30 day visa on arrival only 15 days is allowed for those that qualify for one. You get a 30 day visa exempt entry.

You could make a trip to the Mae Sai crossing in Chiang Mai province to get a new 30 day visa exempt entry unless you have already done 2 of them this year.

If you want to do by air Kuala Lumpur is probably the best choice since there would be no visa required to enter Malaysia. Most other nearby countries require a visa for entry.
