Hanging wires: An accident waiting to happen as villagers name and shame

Villagers in Ubon have gone to the Thai media to name and shame their local authority who have ignored their pleas to do something about a bunch of hanging wires.

The telephone and other cables are about adult head height leading to the village in Khemmarat sub district of Khemmarat district in the north eastern Thai province.

Taller vehicles such as school bus transport, minivans and six wheel trucks can't get through at all.

Assistant to the phu yai ban Suwit Kosa said that phone calls over the last year to the local authority had all been met with indifference and inaction.

He called it a dangerous situation especially for students.

So they went to Thai media Sanook who showed many of the local kids with the offending wires.

Eeeh??? How would that be? According to me a student would have easier to see the wires, than 91 year old granpa on his bicycle.
