I booked a tour in October to Vietnam and the Tour company is requiring me to send US currency to their bank in Vietnam as payment. I do have a Bangkok Bank acct and I will be going to talk to someone at the bank but, up to now, I have not had much to do with the bank. I basically opened up an acct so I could wire funds from the US to Thailand if ever the need arose. Does anyone know if I am going to have a problem sending US currency to Vietnam from my Bangkok Bank acct. I take it I will have to wire the funds and what is the most cost effective way to wire US currency from Thailand to Vietnam? Thanks for any info on this matter.

You should have no problems. Just take a print-out of the invoice issued to you by the Vietnamese tour company.

 

I think your only option to send USD to a VN bank account will be a SWIFT transfer.
