Foreign motorcycle in Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi!

I’m attempting to become the youngest person to circumnavigate the world on a motorcycle. Yesterday I was informed the rules for entering Thailand with a foreign vehicle have changed since I planned that section of the trip!

I have been told (by a tour guide for Myanmar) that I now need a tour guide in Thailand to drive my vehicle there. I have found very little info online about it but it seems to be legitimate.

Has anyone got any information or experience on this or know how well it is enforced?

Thanks!

Henry

Have you checked the Horizons Unlimited forum?

The forum there has a thread on precisely this subject and that's where you will be likely to get the best information I think.

I would post a link to that thread but I think it is against Thaivisa forum rules. Just search for Thailand in the regional forums in HUBB.

Henry, There is a group called GT Riders run by an Aussie, David Unkovich, which specializes in m'bike group travel inside Thailand and into other countries. Search for them, David offers lots of advice for free.

Go to Thailand embassy and get your entry visa's.

Just in case anyone has doubts, this is Henry's facebore page.
