For Phuket, southwesterly winds are forecast to reach between 20-40km/h. with dstrong wind waves along the coast through to Sunday (July 22). Image: TMD

 

PHUKET: The heavy weather warning for Phuket and along the Andaman seaboard remains in effect, with the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) reissuing its caution again this morning (July 18).

 

The advisory forecasts strong wind and waves “as the strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand” through to Sunday (July 22).

 

Strong wind waves of two to three metres tall, reaching above three metres thundershowers, are forecast.

Dont you guys mean 20 to 40 knots. Like whats been blowing yesterday and today? Thats why there are issues here. 

Its 20 knots all day and then when a squall hits it ups to 40. Untill the squall passes.

I guess if they were to say 40 to 80 km it might deter  chinese tourists from comming to phuket this time of year.
