App to promote best places to visit in Thailand’s north

A free new application, UNSEEN Lower North of Thailand, has been launched as a guide to tourists seeking the best spots to visit in five northern provinces.

 

They are Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Tak and Phetchabun. 

 

“With this app, tourists to the provinces will be able to see interesting attractions, shops and restaurants near where they are,” said Mada Chayathattom, the head of Naresuan University’s Academic Affairs Division and the app developer. 

 

She said the application had been developed through the collaboration of specialists in both government and private sectors. 

 

Among the contributor is famous chef Yingsak Chonglertjetsadawong, who is also a dean at Siam Technical College. 

 

“We have integrated data about entrepreneurs in tourism-related fields,” Mada said. 

 

She is confident that the app will provide convenience to tourists, and help spur tourism in the lower North. 

 

The app is now free via download from both App Store and Play Store. 

 

Deputy Phitsanulok Governor Paiboon na Butchom, who presided over the app’s launch on Wednesday, said it also included a chat function so that tourists could talk directly to entrepreneurs.

ok, is that when you get to the top of the hill with view point ( just round the corner? ). I nip up there on my bike now and then for a coffee, never been through the checkpoint and into the park though, is it worth a look?

covered in fog /drizzling when i was there last week?
i entered the park from the Nan side and there was the park ranger station and where we had to pay
entry to park is miles from the top of the hill.
 i did not notice a park station on leaving the park heading towards Khon Kaen.

 

PS; i think on a clear day it would be fantastic!!
