Krabi rescue services took several hours in a tricky rescue operation to help a 26 year old German tourist who fainted.

Seven personnel from Krabi Phitak Pracha rescue needed to go up 1,237 steps to a viewing section at Wat Tham Seua yesterday evening.

The tourist was with two others friends of the same nationality and could not get down again. Monks, nuns and locals were at the scene.

She was stretchered out but it took rescuers two hours to bring her down due to the problems posed by the staircase that is very steep at points, reported Thai Rath.

She felt better when at the bottom and was taken to Krabi hospital then was allowed back to her hotel.

The temple is a popular attraction in Krabi Noi sub-district.

What were the monks and nuns doing at the scene - rubbernecking?

Was one of the friends called Humpty?

Not exactly movie material this story. At least it didn't escalate requiring Elon Musk to step-in with a stretcher designed from used rocket parts.

Rocket parts are old hat now.

Shooting her out of a cannon would have attracted a bigger crowd.

Manufacturers Warning: Can cause altitude sickness.
