I have just spent some time in Cambodia doing some business for my Thai wife's uncles. They are both very wealthy Thai billionaires. I got the money transferred to my account so I could get the full amount in cash and unfortunately got drunk and visited the casinos. I fancy myself as a good gambler but now know otherwise. The bottom line is that I blew 7 million baht. I haven't a clue as what to do. I have two options - tell the truth and face death, losing my family, or forgiveness. Due to the nature of the business, I needed cash, so one alternative is to fake a robbery.

Can any of you blokes come up with any other ways out? 7 million is a lot of money for me but not that much for them.

Maybe this is a very big joke, but anyway i do not feel sorry for you.

I just lost Bt10 million at craps. Let's see, 40,500 TV members into Bt10 mil is Bt247 apiece. Oh, heck, round it up to Bt250. TV members, please transfer your individual JG dues to: Jet Gorgon, Bank of the Bahamas, Acct # 779777.

Thank you.

Don't you really need the money? Will faking a robbery get it back? If faking a robbery gets the money you can pretend to pay them back.

OK:

1. stay cool; VERY important !

2. phone your best friend abroad

3. tell him to phone your wife that you have been killed in Cambodia

4. tell him to ask her to transfer 10 million Baht for your 'funeral'

5. she will fly over for your funeral

6. After 1 or 2 days when everything is cool again, ask her (thru your friend) to visit 'a Motel' :D

7. Profit ? 3 million Baht

8. start over; since she loves you she will accept the story.

9. make sure she will be on the inheritance-list of the two Billionaire Uncles; Important !

10. Live anonymously with your wife and make a lot of kids !

yeah, best thing to do would be go and buy the cheapest shotgun you can find, drink a bottle of fire water and then blow your stupid brains out... cos you can bet your bottom dollar, that's what your former families' paid assasin will be doing quite shortly.

bottoms up... :D

:o Goshawk, were you fired from the BKK Suicide Helpline staff? :D

I found Goshawk's post to be funny as hel_l LMAO. :D Not a very sympathetic crowd here, including myself. I like to gamble but cap my losses at a very small number. 25 hours until wheels up. :D

Many of your posts have blasted those farangs who have married into the rural classes. Many of your posts lambast those farangs who do not understand Thai culture. Many of your posts advise us how to succeed as farangs in Thailand as you have done.

Now you post claiming to have got drunk and lost a fortune (2000 months' salary - by your own words). If this is not precisely the behaviour of a brainless peasant, I don't know what is. If your wife were an Isaan hooker, I think your chances of forgiveness would be far higher than from a well-armed, well-connected Bangkok business dynasty.

Good luck or good trolling, whatever your game is.

Well think how much the Isaan hooker must have worked for 7 mill......

I like Ms Gorgon's idea. Based on her calculations, each of us only has to donate 173 baht to OP. We can manage that, can't we? So, who's first? What? No-one wants to give to someone who (if previous posts are to be believed) has been very superior in his attitude to those who have married into Thai rural families and who (if he is to be believed) gambled away 7 million baht of someone else's (his Thai hi-so families) money? I'm amazed! :D

I think OP's other topic starter was far more imaginative:
Importing A Kangaroo

I want, or rather my wife wants, to import a kangaroo or two.

As well as other species.... :o

Definitely stage the robbery. Then when you report the stolen cash to the Cambodia police lets start a lottery on how long it takes them to "solve" the case!

If they figure it out then we can place our money on how long you get in jail and what happens when you get out.

Actually, if it happened, you have my sympathies (really). If it didn't, it sure one of the more entertaining and speculative situations I've thought about for a while. Thai's--especially Rich Thais and their money are not easily parted.

If you get out of Cambodia alive, I suggest hiding out in a place like Iraq. They might leave you alone there.

You're really screwed either way, so why not gamble a bit more? Try to steal as much as you can of any remaining assets, get a round the world plane ticket, bounce around for a while and settle on some nondescript island nation somewhere where you can get drunk on fermented coconut milk, make lots of babies and get fat.

And this post proves that if you're a total <deleted> on Thai Visa, you get 10x more answers than being sensible. :o

Hey Lampard, don't be such a stick-in-the-mud. Ever enjoy a bit of frivolous entertainment in your life? Such OP's give us just that! I've chuckled all the way through this thread. :D

oh boy, your soooooooooooooooo screwed.

A fool and his money are soon parted... what ever possessed you to gamble a large quantity of someone else's money??? Either way i think you've burnt your bridges in Thailand... i hope it was worth it, get out whilst your still breathing or stay and face the consequences (which i guess are going to hurt)

seeing as your wife is that wealthy i was going to ask you to PM me her phone number but after what you've done, the odds on her family ever trusting another farang again are probably not that good ,so maybe not a good idea.

P.S.

i don't think i've ever laughed so much reading a thread on TV.
