From my point of view, you get better return than keep money in the bank -- the bank gets fat and you just get the scratch out of your hard-earned money. In just 10 years you may get over 100% profit or more from your land. You can't beat that.

The best part of owning a piece of land is -- it's not liquidated easily!

I have a great river view in a steel beam building..was 700k. I can walk to MRT, ferry pier, countlesss busses, or get in a taxi...have seen some in Lampang for 300K.  Some toxic properties out there.....
