It's called Rugby League. A team game popular in north east Australia, northern England and a small chunk of France. Massive in New Guinea. Rugby Union is a better game and worldwide.

Laurie was very bad - but I have a worse one for you. In fact he is the greatest rugby league player of all time. Wally Lewis.

 

There is a reason why all the great coaches of team sports were 'good' players, but not greats. The greats did what they did through extreme talent and capabilities, whereas the good players have to work out the game completely, and decide how to play based on what were their best advantages. The greats (geniuses) just did what they did and it was mainly 'natural' for them.

Union is a better game when played at the top level - so much better on many levels.  But watching Union being played by 'local' teams (or women) is atrocious. League is OK to watch when played by the 'locals' - still effed when women try to play it.

Yeah Lewis was bad and a terrible analyst as well. He could do but can't explain.

Cleary chokes in origin sometimes. Both him and Luai crabbed sideways. Need to run straight and slip 1 to 3m passes. That's what Moses did last year. Dumb tactics by the halves.
