Officials face a massive media presence at a news conference held just after the operation got underway to rescue 12 boys and their coach from a cave last month in Chiang Rai province.

BANGKOK — A story with the trappings of a Hollywood film made headlines worldwide last month when 12 young footballers and their coach were rescued against all odds from a flooded cave in northern Thailand, where the media presence itself became a talking point.

Getting a story published leads to recognition which often equates to $ and the stroking of ego. These reporters don't work for free and the 'need the world to know" may sound noble but it's not the real impetus.

For many ethics is a foreign country.

the reporters showed just how bad their ethics were at various times, they did what ever they could to be better than the others, all that mattered to them was what they could get from it all. Journalism has degraded drastically these days, gone is the truth in reporting and following good ethics, the only think they want to do these days is push their own biased views, no in depth reporting or truth comes into it. These people need to be brought back to reality and to do the right thing, the rescue was very sensitive for a lot of people and many of the reporters never considered them, getting the story first was more important even if it wasnt the correct one
