PHUKET: People across Phuket have been asked to wear light blue this Sunday (Aug 12) as the nation celebrates the occasion of the 86th birthday of the Queen Mother Sirikit Kitiyakara, mother to His Majesty The King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.

 

Phuket Governor Norraphat Plodthong at 8am this morning (Aug 6) led a ceremony at Phuket Provincial Hall to honour the Queen Mother. During the event officials signed books of birthday wishes.

 

Present were Phuket Vice Governors Snith Sriwihok, Thawornwat Kongkaew and Prakorb Wongmaneerung, the heads of government offices in Phuket, as well as judges, senior ranking members of the military in Phuket, top-ranking police commanders and key officials from other agencies.
