Nation Multimedia Group Executive Director Marut Arthakaivalvatee (fourth from left) yesterday presents over Bt2 million in donation money to help flood victims in Laos to Lao ambassador Seng Soukhathivong (fifth from left) at the Lao Embassy.

Nation Multimedia Group Executive Director Marut Arthakaivalvatee led company executives yesterday to present more than Bt2 million in donation money to help flood victims in Laos via the Lao Embassy in Bangkok.

Lao ambassador Seng Soukhathivong, who collected the cash donation from the executives, thanked Thai people for providing continued help to disaster victims. Marut said the company was glad to be part of efforts to help Lao people.

The Bt2,383,856.26 donation was raised within a five-day period through a bank account “Ruam Phalang Phi Nong Thai Phua Chuaylua Phuprasoppai Sor Por Por Lao” (Thai brotherhood joining forces to help disaster victims in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic) which was specially opened by digital Nation TV 22.

Blindingly handing over 2.3 million baht to a Lao official requires some follow up from you journalists as to what has happened to it. Surely you don't expect everyone just to think "OK cool, help done" and then that's it? Forgive my cynicism.
