Prices for laptops, smartphones and what-not in Thailand vs Malaysia

Featured Replies

Any significant difference?

What not is a lot more expensive.

If we're going by the USD or even the weaker Aussie dollar I've found Kuala Lumpur to be significantly cheaper.  As in the difference has covered the cost of my accommodation, flights and expenses with change.  This is when buying from around the 1500+ USD mark.

Per item or overall? You would be hard pressed to buy a phone for that amount (unless vastly overpriced or Vertu......) and that is a fairly expensive laptop - around 50,000 baht........

As to what nots..........

Penang cheaper than Thailand.

Certain?

The smartphones and computers are the same price as in KL. Also, in malaysia there's no 6% gst anymore. But in Thailand you can get your gst back when leaving via airport.
