BANGKOK — Police on Wednesday said they’re working to solve the congestion on Lat Phrao Road after public anger spilled onto social media.

The measures came a week after two lanes of the arterial road cutting across northern Bangkok were closed for construction of a new elevated rail line, sending the area’s notorious traffic woes from bad to worse. Police said solutions include increasing the number of traffic enforcers, banning some vehicles during rush hours and moving bus stops to make way for traffic.

This has been going on longer than the last week, the road has already been slimmed down a few lanes for a good few months in preparation. I don't see how they will get near the 2021 completion date, they haven't even moved the sewage pipes underground yet which will have to make way for pillars on some sections of the road where it crosses over Klongs.

Lat Phrao needed this work starting like a bullet in the head because traffic had already been getting heavier the last year or so due to the knock-on effects of removal of the Ratchayothin Flyover (for the BTS Green Line extension) and now the BTS works near the Lat Phrao Intersection (also for the Green Line extension).

Not having a go at you at all.  People complain that roads or whatever need upgrading,  but when it actually happens people complain about the inconvenience. No win situation for the government, contractor etc.
