August 14, 20187 yr Just to let those who might not know. If your mobile rings and the number shows up starting 0909 it's from Nigeria. I had two missed calls and when I checked the code it says Nigeria. I won't be calling them back.

But, that said, 0909 is, indeed, a mobile code for 9mobile. A bit confusing for 090 codes to be assigned to both mobile and landline numbers, I think! But, as per the OP, I would have expected any call to have been displayed as +234909.... on my Thai mobile in any event.

If the call wasn't answered, how can the OP be sure it was from Nigeria? If for some reason the 'presentation number' is not being displayed in it's entirety, then no one can say where it originates from. However, if it displayed +234-909...., then yes originates from Nigeria. All assuming no one has spoofed the presentation number - which could be possible.
