Thai friend had personal interview US Enbassy, Bangkok, Monday 23 July for US Tourist Visa.  Was asked 3 easy simple questions: Why? (see sights), How long? 

(less than 3wks.), and Where will you stay? (will tour with same sex Thai friend).  Thai passport was kept and told would be notified by phone and mail.  Nothing heard yet.  What to expect?  Thanks! 

Passport with visa are returned in as little as 3 days. It has been 23 days. Your friend needs to call and ask where the passport is.

Ditto khwaibah. My wife was told at her immigrant visa interview that her passport would be returned within 5 days. Showed up with the visa 3 days later.

If it's been 23 days, 'CALL', it's probably lost in the mail somewhere
