Two Indonesian women were pictured wai-ing the Pattaya police chief after being caught in a lie.

They claimed they were held up at gunpoint for 300,000 baht.

But CCTV soon revealed their con. However, the Daily News story gave no indication they had been prosecuted.

They were just pictured looking contrite with Pol Col Apichai Krobpetch who was out of uniform. Another unidentified officer was present.

Earlier Maria Siska Pajorenta, 28, and Rani Nelia Saree, 25 (names transliterated from Thai) went to cops to claim that on the night of August 16th they were walking in North Pattaya when a man on a motorcycle came up from behind.

They claimed he produced a gun and robbed them of a notebook, camera, phone, cash and gold necklace and ring all worth 300,000 baht.

Police looked at CCTV and determined they had made it all up - the Indonesians were arrested and admitted it was to make an insurance claim back in their home country.

They were pictured wai-ing the chief who warned others not to try this in Pattaya.

But no mention was made of charges or a prosecution in the Daily News story.

There is some data connectivity among police in Thailand.  If they try it again, their names may show up as having tried it before?

around looking for people to rob,?

They should have been charged with bringing Pattaya police into disrepute.
