m3u IPTV files,anybody use them

I have been dabbling around trying to play m3u files in MyIPTV app,

which incorporates VLC player,I am finding it difficult to load the files

into the player, and so far have only been able to install one list of

files that worked (sort of), click the channel which opened, the picture

and sound were excellent, BUT it only played for 10+ seconds then stopped/froze.

So is anyone using m3u IPTV files to view UK,US channels,is it working OK,

where do you download files from ?which player do you use ?, how long do

the files last until they are changed, and you have to find new ones ?.

So am I  just wasting my time trying to get this to work? any comments welcome.

I have plenty movies, series, news, sports, sites to watch,i was just hoping to

view some live tv,like Discovery,Nat Geo,Animal Planet,and History channels.

VLC can play these m3u lists but very clunky. Also it sounds like free m3u playlists you are finding on internet? These only play 10-30 seconds like you say. If you turn on loop function in VLC they might continue playing but with a pause each 10-30 seconds. Hardly worth the effort. if you use Kodi instead of VLC there is an addon to make them play continuous. As with all the m3u playlists of this sort they only last a few hours. Best to buy a premium source IPTV provider who will give a playlist that works continuously without stopping, with an EPG and catchup as well.

you can use progdvb

..

and is free if you use last years version

I haven't tried this for several months, but their site still offers a free version now? Do you know if the free version does catch-up? I tired of the app as it seemed to need manually reinstallation of updates every week on Win10.
