Myanmar citizen crossing border - cash or bank statement?

Featured Replies

Hello, we are travelling by bicycle and i really dont want to fly unless absolutely necessary.

We would like to cross from Vientiene into Thailand together, but i know from experience that for her (myanmar) to get a thai visa they require a bank statement, and the 14 day visa exemption is only available if flying.

Is there any way around this?

The Thai embassy consular section in Vientiane does not ask for financial proof or tickets out of the country to apply for a single entry tourist visa. She can get one without a problem.

Apply the morning of one day and pickup the next afternoon.

Cheers for that. Great news.

We crossed from Thailand to Cambodia at Had Lek in Feb. Is there a limit on border crossings per year for Thailand?

There is no limit on entries at land border crossings if you have a valid visa for entry.

If for a visa exempt entry they are limited to 2 per calendar year at land border crossings.
