Mariage registration and 4 month stay in Thailand

Featured Replies

As I want to be prepared a few questions about mariage registration at amphoe of mariage with Thai in The Netherlands.

My wife lives already 18 years in The Netherlands and we maried 4 years ago. We like to have a  simple holyday house in isaan and will start with registration of our mariage.

1) She still has a house registration in here parents house, a Thai ID and Passport.

2) I have a certified mariage document in English made by our city hall.

3) I have a certified copy of my Passport made by our city hall.

4) Want to register in amphoe Nong Buarawe (Chaiyaphum).

A) Which documents have to be certified by the Dutch embassy and which documents translated to Thai?

B) Do I need more documents and translations?

C) Need an address for a trustfull agent to translate and certifie in the Dutch embassy area?

D) Helpfull sugestions to do it well in one time.

For a 4 month stay I can get a 60 day tourist visa in The Netherlands and a 30 day extension but how get i have 30 days longer ?

Regards

(1) Ok

(2)You marriage certificate will need to be legalized by the your embassy or a authority in the Netherlands. Then it will need to be translated to Thai and the translation certified by the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA in Bangkok.

(3) If needed it would need to be done by the embassy. There is no requirement for it but some Amphoes may ask for it. Best to check with them as to what will be needed.

(4) Ok

A) see #2

B) no

D.) It should no be difficult to find a good translation service near the embassy.

As you’re married to a Thai you can get a Single Entry Non-Immigrant ‘O’ Visa. That will give you 90 days on entry and you can extend that by 60 days.

If you enter with a Tourist Visa you can extend by 30 days for tourism, OR extend by 60 days as the spouse of a Thai.
