All the major DIY places are near with the exception of Thai Watsadu and Do Home ( which are a bit of a drive away. )

Basically want to build some custom size units for outside the house for storing garden tools, paint tins and tools etc

No room for a shed but have covered areas all round the house and lockable storage units with Dexion and some type of Sheera material covering painted the same colour as the house will not look out of place ( that’s what I’m telling ‘er indoors anyway !! ).

Sooo, any suggestions where to buy Dexion and any other ideas to complete my project will be more than welcome .

TIA

Thats a blast from the past, dexion, the grown ups meccano.

Admit not seen it but home pro and the likes do sell pretty robust interlocking shelving racks at about 900mmx500x 1.6 high and adjustable. Good shelves and nice chromy finish

Go and look, I use a spare onr myself for tins and tools, circa 1600-1800bt as i recall.

I've been looking around Chiang Mai for that too.  Often see racking built from it but never on sale in component parts.

Yes, my next door neighbour has some in his garden, which kinda gave me the idea but as he’s an asshat I’m a bit loathe to ask him where he got it.

The company is still going strong so it should be out there somewhere .

Yes that’s the stuff.
I was hoping one of the big DIY places have it so i can determine how much I need and add to as required, i.e. make another unit or add a shelf etc .
I’m gonna make it up as I go along.

But i can always use your suggestion.

Have you bought anything from them ?

How were they at price and time for delivery ?

Some years ago I decided to bring some order to our secondary stockroom which the staff appeared to use a "chuck it on the floor" room.

Spotted the slotted angle iron at Phuket Homeworks, that was when they had a builders merchant style section. Cheap as chips.

Had great fun cutting it up and bolting it together for cheap but very robust shelving.IMG_2139.thumb.JPG.cd25ad4052efca96fd53970c31863d81.JPG

Pretty much what I want to do, the good thing about it is you can change it around and it doesn’t look used , very versatile.
Mr Dexion ( ? ) must be a very rich man [emoji51]

No, i have not actually bought anything yet, but i did cost them out for a lot of stuff for our future house. Their list price was cheaper than the places like Global house, Thai watsadu etc here in Ubon but with transport added on it was pretty much even, so I might just use them for anything we cannot get in Ubon. I expect delivery to ayyutaya would be much much cheaper though. You can do a dummy order with your delivery address to find out the transport costs, then just cancel the order.

"Real" Dexion I've never seen, but the punched and slotted angle (and bolts, brackets etc.) should be availalble at your local metal supply place. Take the photo with you.

Be aware the local stuff isn't up to Dexion standards, you may need to double up if you want heavy stuff on your shelves.

I seem to have 3 different brands of "Dexion alike" stuff.

The shop says there are differing steel thicknesses .....

I got the thinner stuff @ 140 baht per 3 meter length

and 35 baht per bag of the "special"  nuts and bolts.
