Activist Danny Thomas films himself slashing immigrant dingy

CHANNEL KNIFE STUNT: DANNY TOMMO GOES TOO FAR

RESCUE WORKER ONBOARD AS ACTIVIST SLASHES DINGHY

Daniel “Danny Tommo” Thomas has taken his campaign against Channel crossings into dangerous new territory after filming himself using a knife to slash an inflatable dinghy while a rescue worker was aboard.

Thomas was following boats carrying asylum seekers across the Channel when he approached a dinghy that had just been emptied during a rescue operation.

KNIFE ATTACK ON DINGHY

In footage livestreamed to his followers, Thomas can be seen stabbing the inflatable several times as air escapes from the vessel.

A rescue worker wearing high-visibility clothing and a helmet was on the dinghy at the time.

Thomas shouted for the worker to get off before telling his companions: “Let’s go lads. Let’s go.”

The footage does not show what happened to the rescue worker after Thomas's boat moved away.

The incident has prompted condemnation from refugee charities and triggered a police investigation. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said officers were making inquiries into the boat-slashing incident.

PROTESTERS WAITED IN GOSPORT

The Channel confrontation came as hundreds of anti-immigration protesters gathered in Gosport, Hampshire, expecting asylum seekers rescued at sea to be brought ashore there.

Thomas had called on supporters to turn up at 7pm, while police deployed scores of officers and vans around the area.

But the expected confrontation never happened.

Instead, Border Force took the rescued group away from Hampshire and transported them to Dover.

Thomas had therefore spent the afternoon chasing boats in the Channel while his supporters waited on shore for an arrival that never came.

A DANGEROUS CROSSING

The people at the centre of the operation had already endured an exceptionally long and hazardous journey.

The RNLI said there had been concerns about deteriorating health and the possibility of a “catastrophic failure” of their dinghy after they had spent around 36 hours at sea.

The French coastguard said about 60 people had spent more than 33 hours in precarious conditions before the RNLI helped transfer them to a Border Force vessel.

The rescue charity has since stressed that its crews rescue anyone in trouble at sea, regardless of their nationality or immigration status.

WHO IS DANNY TOMMO?

Thomas is the founder of Patriot Platform, which has brought together a number of nationalist protest groups for increasingly organised anti-immigration demonstrations.

He has previously spent two years in prison for attempted kidnapping and has become a prominent figure in the recent protests around Dover, Portsmouth and other locations.

His movement has used social media to organise supporters and, increasingly, to document confrontational activity around the Channel.

The latest incident represents a significant escalation because this time the confrontation was not simply on the quayside or outside an immigration facility.

It happened in the middle of the Channel, during a rescue operation, with an emergency worker aboard the boat Thomas was attacking.

And that is likely to put the focus firmly on the police investigation now under way.

What's it come to in the UK when Civilians have to take protecting our Borders into their own hands.

Just remember over a week ago Andy (Joe 90) Burnham stood in the House of Commons and stated the Defence budget shouldn't come at a cost of the Welfare budget.

He has previously demonstrated he's pretty handy with a knife...........

He was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to an attempted kidnapping at knifepoint. He forced his way into a man's home on Hayling Island accusing him of stealing his drugs.

They don't have to.......but he is savvy enough to recognise there's a lot of money to be made from one of the Ms in M&Ms.

Just can't understand why all those 3rd World Doctors, Engineers and Lawyers are fleeing war torn France in the first place?.

These Patriots stopping the boats today come from the same heroic stock as the Civilians who took part in Operation Dynamo between May & June 1940 stepping up when needed.

His footage shows 100% these military age male muslims are being escorted and assisted every step of the way by French/British authorities. Naughty naughty Mr Tommo😅

Has he got a fundraising effort up yet, Im not even British but Ill donate.

What crime could he be charged with?

Destroying the property of criminal crime syndicates and human Traffickers?

Preventing illegal immigration?

Did they go to the UK on a rubber dingy from France or did they get a proper visas before they arrived ?

But had they arrived in UK illegally? I would imagine not.

Articles like the OP consistently (deliberately) frame the rubber boaters as 'migrants' rather than the factually correct "ILLEGAL migrants". It's the 'illegal' bit that causes the problems.

I would welcome any migrant to the UK who arrives through a legal route.

Well said immigration into Britain should be strictly controlled and vetted .

Anyone arriving illegally with no identification should be immediately detained and removed.

Rather like some on this forum, living as (I presume) legal migrants to Thailand, who praise the authorities whenever they catch and deport people who are here illegally. I don't see them calling for the Thai authorities to say "oh well, they made it Thailand so we should just take care of them now".

Not far right, just right doing what the UK pays the French millions to do.

You don't think it was the same couple each time do you?..........Surely not?

We were told the RNLI are only called out to save lives, sea conditions are a mill pond, looks more like a taxi service to me.

3 RNLI boats to pick up people who don't need saving, total waste of money. You can see why some people may not want to donate their hard earned cash to them anymore.

It's been asked, how did your neighbors arrive in the UK, legally or in a boat/back of a lorry?

I suggest you check the meaning of "similar".

Lets stop this garbage of referring to everyone who wants the illegal migrants stopped as "far right". If the government did its job the boats would be stopped but the far left dont want to stop them. For some reason they think the uncontrolled immigration will serve them. News flash it wont.

Yes, I imagine they were legal..............there are no legal routes which allow individuals to apply for asylum, if outside the UK........you have to be, in effect, chosen by an organisation UKRS, ARAP.......or "get yourself into the UK", hence the small boats.

They'd been at sea for close to 36 hours on a rubber dinghy.

I get your "can't understand" dilemma must be frustrating for you to figure things out, but crimes such as criminal damage to the dinghy, endangering life at sea / endangering a rescue worker, and interference with a rescue operation under maritime law comes to mind.

You said the anecdote was similar.....not the couple.......???

No idea.....I imagine legally. With their qualifications UNHCR would have singled them out.
