webfact
Video: Yaris vs Ranger: More nutty driving on the Thai roads Picture: INN Dash cam footage posted on a Facebook site showed the barging match between a Toyota Yaris and a Ford Ranger pick-up on a major route in the Bangkok area. But neither stopped. The poster of the clip on "Jao Phor Clip Det" said that both vehicles went on their merry way at a subsequent intersection as if nothing had happened. The footage showed the Ranger cut across from the left before trying to get past the Yaris. When the smaller vehicle didn't yield the Ranger driver appeared to deliberately sideswipe the Yaris. holy cow cm
and it is not getting better here. all the fines in the world will not make them good drivers. the men with certain vehicles have inflated egos that help increase their anger they have for being so tiny in some other place. not a day goes by in CM I don't have a near miss. Cereal
My wife and I spent last week in Bangkok running around doing the tourist thing. The traffic is a nightmare. Getting back home to Vientiane was like leaving a rave for a cemetery. I don't know how people live there, man. It would drive me (literally) insane. from the home of CC
Looks like the truck almost pulled off a PIT maneuver which would of ended all this really badly with all the other traffic around.

Not really letting them off the hook but it does kind of explain some of the wacko behavior of some of the taxi drivers there. Couldn't pay me enough to do that job there. bdenner
I get this sort of shlt on my dash cam every day = so common it's not worth reporting, in fact I don't even bother saving it unless it results in a stack!

If this went south, he would have been involved in the crack-up along with all the cars around who are oblivious. When I see this stupidity, I slow down and put distance between my vehicle and the rest of the morons on the road, which is just about everyone. The fact is that there are aggressive drivers everywhere, but it's compounded by the fact that virtually the only people on the road driving defensively are probably farangs from Western countries. Anybody see the vehicles to the left, like the semi and the van / SUV trying to undertake this <deleted>***ery on the left where the semi had the lane??? If this had blow up everyone would have claimed 'brake failure' and pointed the finger at someone else. Yep. Thailand -The Worlds Number One Most Dangerous Roads in the World bar none - for a reason! alien365
The Yaris deserved the side swipe. The dash cam driver also needs to be introduced to some better music.
tifino
strangely it looks to me the dashcam simply recorded the final chapter, of what might have been some long running personal feud between the two drivers?

I will therefore give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that your first sentence was supposed to be humourous as well. If not the case, I hope that I never meet you on the road. You need to get out of Bangkok, up here in riceland, there's very rarely traffic incidents mainly because there isn't much traffic. Driving is mostly a pleasure on half decent roads. I'm guessing like most on here, when I see someone driving recklessly or too fast behind me I get out of the way. I have no interest in racing or blocking people, rather i try to help maintain traffic flow. The Yaris was fighting fire with fire which never ends well on the roads here. Fortunately no other drivers were affected by these idiots. Regarding the music, at one point I thought he had hit the jackpot on the slots. hotchilli
The footage showed the Ranger cut across from the left before trying to get past the Yaris. Actually the dash cam footage shows the Yaris as the initial culprit, cutting in front of the Ranger making him brake that's why obviously miffed he goes after the Yaris.. Both need some education! gunderhill
Well done Mr Ranger often feel like doing this to those <deleted> who think they can weave in and out of cars in the fashion of that Yaris, can't leave any safety gap here for idiots like this, one minute up yer arse the next trying to undertake and dodge back in. I moved here in 2006 and there were elephants walking around downtown. There's plenty of traffic here now but it's dead as a doornail compared to Bangkok. I am 100% content with that!
