webfact
Wealthy farmer robbed of 2.5 million baht after he went to be ordained Picture: Sanook A cassava farmer suffered a burglary at his house after he went into the monkhood in July. Phra Jakra U-Thong, 34, had ordained for Buddhist Lent. Thieves entered his house on Friday while his wife, children and their grandmother were all out. He was at the temple. A safe containing 500,000 baht, a bag containing 200,000 baht for a krathin merit making ceremony and 25 baht of weight of gold were all taken after a door was smashed in. With other bank investments the haul was worth 2.5 million baht. The monk said he had just harvested 200 rai of his and other people's land and hadn't had time to put the resulting money in a safer place before he ordained. Police are studying CCTV to get a lead in the case, reported Sanook. Source: Sanook -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2018-09-

CLW
He got what he deserved. Keeping that much money and valuables at home is just simply stupid. He can be lucky that no one was at home when the thieves entered the house.
