Almost everything that’s been posted about the missing couple is wrong and that includes their family name (Tranlitteration error) and nationality. We have known them for 25 years and my wife spoke to the sister in law who is Thai anD lives in Scotland last night. She is on her way to Thailand to join her niece the daughter of the missing couple.

I dont feel that I can give the family name at this time till it is officially released, however I’m sure that the family would appreciate it if people would stop the speculation about their dissapearance.

The story has now been featured in the Daily Mail, which also gives the name as Alan Hogg and his wife Nott. It states that he was originally from Edinburgh.

Hope they are found safe and well but, as time goes by, that seems to be less likely.

One wonders if the 200,00 baht is the australians money !

  • The actual equation is; Greed + Pathological desire for money = All and any crime is justified

but I heard through a reliable source that one MUST get a receipt when paying it at the police station or court house

One MUST get a receipt for bail cash wherever it is granted and in whatever country!

This is interesting. Do they - whoever holds the dosh - pay the lawyer for you?

I simply did not use a lawyer. I did it myself, with the assistance of a Thai person.
