Thailand's immigration chief Maj-Gen Surachate Hakparn led a special forces team to a condominium in Rama 9 road, Bangkok yesterday where they arrested a South Korean man on charges of spreading child porn.

Kyong Hun Yang, 37, was running 892bam.com a paid membership site that has 100 million members.

He was arrested after representations from the authorities in South Korea to the Thai police. Warrants were issued in both countries.

Yang was staying at the Huay Khwang condo with his Thai girlfriend. He had made 45 trips to Thailand since 2015.

Taken into evidence were a computer notebook, hard disk with indecent many images and an ATM card.

His visa was revoked and he was taken straight to jail.

Police will first look to prosecute the suspect in Thailand then he will be deported.

Hopefully, some of these sickos can be traced, investigated, and hopefully prosecuted, whichever country they are in.

I wonder which nationalities are part of the 100 million members ?   presumably a lot of Koreans and no doubt many Japanese too.

Same as the posters above, I was astounded to read 100,000 members, and this is just one scumbag. It is staggering how many sick people must be out there. Do not bother deporting him. double life sentence, no parole in the Bangkok Hilton should suffice, along with his Thai counterparts.

Calling BS on that one.

100 million sounds like a conversion issue.  Maybe it is Thai baht to USD?  Divide by 32? and get ~ 3 million?  Also I am not sure how Thais indicate 1 million.  Do they say 1,000 1,000 i.e. Pan Pan?  Maybe  laan is one million?

Why is BJ still making a show, while he should be busy fixing up immigration, which we all agree is a totally inept service.

Well I'm just wondering how you would comment no matter what he focused on. No pleasing some people.

Well first did I confine my comments ? or is it the fact I did not include every country in the world confusing you. ? Secondly the man and team running it were Koreans - it's a clue for you !! or too difficult that the fact the website was primarily in  Korean language .

I agree with you kiddy fiddlers are everywhere and are abhorrent, but there again there will be people who claim it is not an issue in South Korea and/or Japan.  Make up your own mind on the acceptability of that argument. It took Japan until only 4 years ago to ban child pornograpghy so that in my book illustrates something about them hence worthy of mention alongside Korea, being the ringleaders nationality.

Whatever, still probably a large number.

This means that there are thousands of people out there willing to pay to see our kids molested, abused and raped and those willing to cash in on it. The mind boggles.

Yes let's forget about pedos and focus on overstayers instead. What is wrong with you?

You just don't get it. He is now head of a big bloated administration that needs a massive reengineering, and he is still doing basic police field work. And his only motivation is a narcissistic urge to stay in the limelight. Let the the good cops do the good professional police work, and without unnecessary media exposure.

No doubt the members are made up of paedophiles from many countries.  Why speculate about the Japanese and Koreans over any other?  The man running the site may be Korean but these sites are truly international as it has been shown countless times.

If it is a paid for site then there may well be a case for tracking the form of payment used, which will no doubt result with many of these individuals wearing brown trousers for quite a while!  There was a well known bust some years ago that led to the arrest of thousands in the UK including Pete Townsend of the Who.

Should be no problem if the membership fee was paid by "plastic" card which can be easily traced through the issuing banks.
