You can go to Kap Chong which is directly south of Surin. Its about a 2 1/2 drive from Korat City.

This border is very quiet and it will only take you a few minutes to get your stamps.

Thanks, MPD, is there a bus or preferably a mini-van that goes there?

There's a bus service from Surin to the border at Chong Chom (about 18 km south of kab cheong). Not sure about buses from Khorat. Farang Connection also does runs to the border as required, however, they're a tad more expensive!
